Join Calgary’s most adventurous (and optimistic) book club as we read David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest.

June 2nd to September 2nd =13 weeks/ 80 pages a week, thereabouts. Totally do-able.

To join, simply email info@infinitesummeryyc.com, and I will add you to the site so you can post and share your thoughts with the community.

You don’t have to live in Calgary, though for locals, we will plan to have several meet-ups to get together and talk about the book at significant junctures.

You can buy the book from Amazon.ca in Canada or Amazon.com in the US or naturally, at any of your fine local bookstores. The reading schedule has been developed for both hard copy and Kindle versions. There is an audio book version, but I do not recommend it, as it does not have any of the many, many endnotes, which are INTEGRAL to the book.

Speaking of endnotes, you will want to have two bookmarks at the ready.

Hi Aaron – so great to have you on board! I am excited to share that we have readers not only from Calgary but Paris, New York, London, Seattle, Australia, and more. It’s going to be a wonderful summer.

I’m really, really excited about this. I’ve been a fan of DFW’s essays and nonfiction for a while, but just recently felt “ready” to give IJ an honest try. The audio version is NOT the way to go, I learned early on. I have begun, but I’m not too far in. Personally I’ve found the combination of a physical copy AND the Kindle version a good way to go. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Can’t wait for us all to be underway!
